How To Measure Insole At Home
When buying insoles or liners online, and when buying shoes online, it is crucial to know how to measure your insoles or shoes. Often, knowing the size of your insoles and comparing them to the shoes sold online is the only way to know if a shoe you can’t try on will fit you. To properly measure the fit of your insoles, today you’ll learn how to use a few simple tools to measure your feet.
Measuring tools: A simple piece of paper, a pen and some kind of ruler for measuring or using a tape machine.

- Put the call to the middle of the white paper, and then use a pen to draw the outline of the foot.
Stand on a flat surface on a clean piece of paper with your heel touching and not overlapping the edge of the page. Mark the heel out holding the pen perpendicular to the foot- now extend the line, using a ruler from the curved end of the heel to the outside of the foot.
- Measure the length and width.
Get the person helping you to mark the spot where the ball of your foot touches the paper.

Using a measuring tape, the person measuring you will measure the length from the ball position to where you extended the heel line.
Use the thumbs on both hands to press the tape measure flat against the sides of the shoe. Stretch it evenly across the widest part of the shoe, then note the measurements at each edge. Subtract the smaller measurement from the larger to get the actual distance between them. This is your insole width and also the inside shoe width of the shoe you’re measuring.
